When we start now,
we can do more
If you wait until high school, you will waste your first two years figuring out where to best direct your time and energy.
Instill initiative early
The prefrontal cortex undergoes a significant growth spurt starting in sixth grade. This is the time to develop intrinsic motivation, leading to positive lifelong habits. Competent adulthood starts now.

Identify talent
Interests change, but core talents don’t. When talents are not identified and developed, they atrophy. This is the biggest failure of the school system.
The advanced track
Top colleges and competitive majors require academic tracks that start in the sixth grade. If you miss the entry ramp it requires completing college level classes in high school and many schools won’t let you switch tracks.

Do your chores
One of the longest running studies from Harvard shows that students who contribute to the household grow into more responsible and disciplined adults. This is why our work extends as much into the home as it does the school. What do you wish your child would do without you having to ask?
Fill in the gaps
We are not fans of phrases that start with “my child is not good at _____.” While it may be true, we find that with the right attitude and support early on, areas of weakness can be improved.
